Smartclip Reduction Ring for Pulsar Krypton Product description

About Smartclip

Smartclip is a Slovenian company known for its manufacture of adapters for clip-on devices, noted for their robust construction and superior finish. The adapters feature a distinctive lever that closes inward toward the adapter body, unlike many competitors' adapters where the lever shifts from the rear (loose) to the front (fixed). Hunters often detach the clip-on from the scope to swiftly scan the area. In the dark, particularly when excited by the sounds of nearby wildlife, there's a risk of quickly bringing the device close to the face, potentially poking the eye or surrounding skin with the lever in the loose position. Ludwig Dvojmoč, the company’s founder, developed the unique lever design in response to several injuries caused by traditional lever mechanisms, effectively eliminating the risk of such mishaps.

Ludwig Dvojmoč has experience working with well-known companies in the sports optics industry, such as Zeiss and Aimpoint. He played a pivotal role in establishing the Slovenian chapter of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) and contributed to the amendment of several rules in the competition overall.

What is a reducing ring/converter?

Adapters that serve as a basis for clip-on mounting feature a M52x0.75 thread on one side and a riflescope objective attachment mechanism on the other. If you wish to mount a clip-on with any other thread/bayonet on your riflescope, you have two options. You can either purchase a one-piece solution, which has limited size options, or a two-piece adapter. The two-piece adapter consists of a M52x0.75 thread adapter combined with a suitable reducing ring or converter.

About the Smartclip converter for Pulsar Krypton (M35x1.0)

The Smartclip converter for Pulsar Krypton (M35x1.0) features an M52x0.75 thread for attachment to the AS adapter on one side and a thread for connection to the Pulsar Krypton mounting standard (M35x1.0) on the other.

This converter, in conjunction with the AS adapter, forms a two-part system for mounting devices with the Pulsar Krypton mounting standard (M35x1.0) on a riflescope.

Mounting instructions

Mounting the reducing ring on the adapter

Align the AS adapter with the M52x0.75 thread on the reducing ring. Carefully thread the adapter onto the reducing ring until it is fully tightened. Use the provided wrench to securely fix it in place.

Mounting a device with the Pulsar Krypton mounting standard (M35x1.0) on the reducing ring

Thread the counter-nut, which comes with the reducing ring, onto the Pulsar Krypton mounting thread (M35x1.0) of the clip-on until it reaches the end. Position the reducing ring to align its M35x1.0 thread with the thread on the clip-on. Carefully screw the reducing ring onto the clip-on's thread, stopping just short of fully threading it. Prior to fully tightening the device onto the thread, utilize the counter-nut to adjust the adapter's positioning, ensuring the lever remains easily accessible when the device is mounted on the clip-on.

Well engineered great bit of kit

I wanted to mount a Pulsar Krypton FXG50 on to a Swarovski Z8 with a 56mm objective lens. I bought this reduction ring and the Smartclip adapter in size 62mm. The result is excellent much better than the standard Pulsar adaptor, it’s slimmer and much better engineered

Hi, I'm trying to find the smartclip manufacturer to find something out but maybe you can help. I'm looking for a screw on adapter for a swarovski x5i that will accept a pulsar fn455s. Many thanks, Alex

I have a Krypton with original mount. Was not so happy with it and I have now in field lost the plastic ring between mount & scope. Even with this plastic ring I did not like the fit. The Swarovski is 50mm. What mount should I buy from you to my Pulsar?

by Johan

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

In order to mount Pulsar Krypton FXG50 to your Swarovski riflescope with a 50mm lens you need to following products:

 - Smartclip Adapter - AS (Size: 56mm)

 - Smartclip Reduction Ring for Pulsar Krypton

Thank you for your understanding.

If you will need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind Regards

I have found that the Smartclip adaptor for my Krypton fits and aligns correctly to my Z8i without using the reducing ring, (I purchased both of them from you) will it be okay to use the Krypton like that please ?

by DAVID

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

We would kindly like to ask you to send us a few photos of the adapter and how it is mounted on the device in order to confirm this matter. You can contact us at info@optics-trade.eu. Please note that the thread on the device does not match the thread on the Smartclip adapter that is why the reduction ring is needed to transform the thread of the device to the thread of the adapter.

Thank you for your understanding.

If you will need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Sorry three questions that I would like you to answer. 1/ If I have a 40mm and also a 50mm optic what’s the minimum gap between the scope on rifle barrel needed for the smart clip for Krypton thermal add on unit as one of my rifles only has about 3mm between them, the other is around 5 mm. 2/ If I want to purchase the different sizes from you do I need to give you the specific make of scope or just give you the outside diameter. 3/ can you centralise the thermal picture screen so it appears in the middle of the optic when looking through. All the best Simon.

by Simon

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

The minimum gap between the objective and the barrel of the rifle is 4mm however there is also an ultra-slim edition of the Smartclip adapter which only needs approximately 3mm of clearance in order to mount the Pulsar Krypton. If you want to purchase different sizes you need to select the same size as it is your objective diameter on your riflescope. Also, the Smartclip allows mounting a clip-on device as straight as possible on the riflescope and you centralize the display of the device with the riflescopes' optical line (zeroing) with the inbuilt function in the device itself. With this function, you adjust the X and Y axis of the display in the device.

Thank you for your understanding.

If you will need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Does the Smartclip adaptor for Pulsar Krypton have the ability to centralise the Krypton screen in the view through the rifle scope, like the Pulsar PSP please ?

by David

Currently, Smartclip reduction rings for Krypton units are fixed, however, in the continuation of the year, Smartclip will probably also produce the adjustable version. Rusan currently has both available.

Hello, I have a question about both Rusan and Smartclip adapters for The Krypton XG50. Can the monocular 5x30B be used with these adapters installed or do they have to be removed? Are threads interchangeable between Rusan and Smartclip? Best regards,

by Stefan

The 5x30 B monocular can be used while these reduction rings are on the Krypton device. The threads indeed are interchangeable.

Is the new smart clip reducer for the Pulsa Krypton able to adjust the screen view so it is in the centre of the day scope view ?

by Alf

That is correct.

Hello, i have bought a Pulsar krypton and want to use it on 2 different rifles. one with a 56 scope ( 62mm outside) and one with a 50 scope (58 mm outside) scope I use both rifles often so i want a solution to swith easy between the 2 scopes. And make sure that the bullet placement is ok. I used a Dipol DN34 pro for 6 years and the switching between 2 scopes never effected my shooting. This i want to achieve again with the Krypton I was advised to buy 2 different smartclip adapters A and 2 smartclip reduction rings for the pulsar krypton can you advise if this a good solution? Looking forward to your response best regards Michiel

by Michiel

The best solution for you is to have to complete Smartclip adapters which have reduction rings that are always set the same. This way you will face minimal or zero tolerances when shooting.
