Contessa Blaser Line mounts.

Blaser is a firearm manufacturing company, headquartered in Isny im Allgäu, Germany. They revolutionized the way riflescopes are mounted on the rifles by introducing a unique mounting system. Most Blaser rifles (R8, R93, B95/B97, D99, K95, S2, BBF95/97 and many others) have four notches on the barrel, the dimensions of which are the same on every Blaser rifle that uses this mounting system (same mounts fit on all Blaser rifles with this platform). Blaser is one of the first rifle manufacturing companies that introduced the barrel-mounting system.

Most mounts in this category are of the detachable type. They come with a lever that locks into place when pressed to the side of the base and can be unlocked by pushing down the safety catch. This mechanism makes these mounts repeatable, meaning that they hold zero when dismounted and mounted back again.

Blaser makes rifles of the premium class, which is why these appealing, high-quality mounts with rounded edges will nicely complement them. The glossy finish adds to the elegant appearance, while the precisely machined parts make it robust and durable.

For the Blaser mounting platform, Contessa makes Picatinny rails of various lengths, a Docter Sight adapter, an Aimpoint Micro adapter, mounts for different night vision optics, mounts for all the popular rail standards (Zeiss ZM/VM, Swarovski SR, S&B Convex), mounts with 30mm rings, etc. Additionally, there are many types of Picatinny rails available for popular NV optics, including the one with the 20 MOA inclination.

These mounts are machined from a solid block of steel, which is different from what we are used to with most other mount manufacturers. Contessa has a 30-year warranty period on all their mounts for Blaser rifles.

Blaser has revolutionised the way rifle scopes are mounted on the rifles with their saddle mount system. The main feature of this system is that it can be found with all Blaser rifles, no matter what type or model they are. That means that Blaser succeeded to offer the same mounting solution on repeating rifles like on the R93, R8, Combination rifles like B95/97, Single Shot break rifles like K95, Drillings like D99, Bockdrillings like D14, side by side rifles like S2 and all other rifles made by Blaser.

This system is thus by far the most versatile mounting system on the market. Additional advantages that it offers are:

Very low mounting height of scopes with rails like Zeiss ZM/VM, Swarovski SR, S&B Convex,
100% repeatability when detached and reattached,
small size and weight,
easy detaching and reattaching the scope to a rifle.

This mounting system has four notches for mounting directly on the barrel and not on the action. All mounts that attached to all four notches can be used on all types of Blaser rifles. Those mounts however that are attached only to 2 notches (most commonly these are mounting solutions for the red dot sights and reflex sights) are rifle specific. That means that MAKnetic for Docter Sight for Blaser R8 will not fit on any other Blaser rifle except R8. Such mounts are very elegant due to their small size but their versatility is limited to one specified type of Blaser rifle only.

Another important consideration that needs to be pointed out is that all mounts for Blaser rifles (original and non-original) are designed to work only on one single barrel. That means that if you have set a mount on one barrel (setting a mount on the Blaser rifle means to tighten the adjustment screw in a way that clamping of the mount on the four notches is done by exactly appropriate force) it will work only on that Blaser barrel and not on others. You can have multiple optics on one Blaser barrel but you cannot have a single optics on multiple Blaser barrel. The only exception to this rule are Dentler mounts.
