The History of Accuracy International

Accuracy International was founded in the UK in 1978 by Malcolm Cooper, a British Olympic medalist in shooting, and Sarah Cooper, his wife. The company was established with the aim of creating a high-precision rifle that would meet the needs of competitive target shooters and military snipers alike. In 1982, they introduced their first rifle, the AI Arctic Warfare rifle. The rifle's accuracy and reliability made it a favorite of military and law enforcement agencies around the world. In the 1980s and 1990s, AI continued to refine and expand its product line, developing new models like the AW50 and the AWM (Arctic Warfare Magnum). These rifles were designed to meet the needs of different users, from military snipers to police SWAT teams.

In the early 2000s, AI secured a contract to supply rifles to the British Armed Forces, cementing its reputation as a supplier of high-quality military equipment. The company's rifles were used by British forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, where they earned a reputation for their accuracy and reliability. AI continued to expand its product line, offering rifles for civilian use, as well as law enforcement and military applications. Accuracy International AX50 Rifle Review

The Accuracy International AX50 is a bolt-action rifle designed for long-range shooting and military applications. It features a proofed steel action bolted to an aluminum chassis, which provides durability and stability for accurate shooting.

The AX50 is equipped with a six-locking-lugs, sixty-degree opening angle bolt that features an AI combat-proven leaf spring extractor. This bolt ensures smooth and reliable cycling, even under harsh conditions. The rifle also has a 2-position safety and a two-stage trigger that is adjustable for pull weight between 1500 and 2000 g (3.3 and 4.4 lbs), allowing for precise and consistent trigger pulls. It features a full length 0 MOA STANAG 4694/Mil Std 1913 rail, allowing for easy attachment of various accessories. AX50 uses a detachable 5-round magazine and an integrated quick-adjust butt spike.

The left-folding stock makes it easy to transport and store, while the triple chamber muzzle brake reduces recoil and muzzle rise, improving accuracy. Additionally, the AX50 has a quick-adjust buttstock and cheekpiece, making it comfortable for any kind of shooter.
