The History of FAIR

FAIR, which stands for Fabbrica Armi Isidoro Rizzini, was founded in 1971 in Val Trompia near Brescia by Isidoro Rizzini. The foundation of the company's approach is to combine the expertise of traditional craftsmanship with the latest in advanced technology. Today, FAIR is Italy's second-largest maker of over/under shotguns, after Beretta.

The company specializes in the production of over-and-under and side-by-side sporting and hunting rifles, as well as semiautomatic versions of shotguns. Some of their recognized models include the SAFARI, COMBI, and the K 500 rifle series, the SSX12 semiauto shotgun, the ISIDE side-by-side series, and a vast array of over-and-under competition and hunting shotguns such as LINCOLN GAME, PREMIER, SLX 600 in different variants, SLX 692, JUBILEE, and others.

Nowadays, the FAIR factory is equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machinery, which guarantees the smallest possible tolerances of components and allows for the interchangeability of a great number of parts. However, a lot of handwork goes into the actual assembly of the rifles. Custom stocks are available together with custom engravings and numerous other options to personalize the firearm to one’s personal preferences.

FAIR guns are marketed in the US by the Italian Firearms Group. In Canada, their trap/skeet models, combination guns, and single-shot rifles have been highly sought after since their exclusive importing began in 2007. The factory is currently managed by Luca Rizzini, the son of the founder Isidoro Rizzini.

FAIR K 500 Rifle Review

The FAIR K 500 rifle is a single-shot rifle built on a .28 ga action. There are two models in the K500 line: the K500 with a "donkey-back" stock and the K500 DE LUXE with a Bavarian-style stock and a rubber recoil pad. Both versions come equipped with a single selective trigger with system Stecher. The stocks are made of high-quality walnut.

There is a front sight made of fiber optic material with millimeter adjustment, as well as a narrow rear sight with green fiber optic dots. The lever above the handle opens the rifle when pushed to the right and is pierced for an aesthetic appearance.

The safety lever is positioned behind the opening lever, above the handle, and is easily operated with a thumb. The FAIR K 500 rifle is optics-ready and comes with cutouts on the upper rib that can be used for mounting purposes. The rifle is available in various calibers for the users to choose from.
