About the Roessler

The company founder Erich Roessler started his gunsmithing career in Austria at only 15 years of age and was later promoted to department head of weapons assembly, the job he held until 1996, when he founded his own rifle manufacturing company Roessler Waffen Austria. It could be said it became a family-run company after Erich's son joined his father to help him with manufacturing and processing of mechanical weapon components and the joint effort paid off, as the production and sales of their products kept growing. At the end of the 1990s they began working on the development of Titan 6, which was based on an idea of high-quality bolt action hunting rifle, which could be more affordable compared to the other rifles because of high in-house production knowledge of the founder.

Titan 6 was introduced to the market at the start of 2002 and immediately impressed the public and also other rifle producing companies with the quality and precision of the rifle, even more if you take the price into consideration and thus the rifle spread throughout the Europe like a wildfire in the next couple of years. The incoming orders grew so much, that the company had to expand to Kufstein and so did expand their sales of the rifles throughout the whole world. In 2012 the company presented a new model, Titan 16, which had the same characteristics of high quality and affordable price, with a different focus, as this one was more focused on the driven hunt.

Roessler Titan Alpha Rifle Review

Roessler Titan Alpha is a hunting bolt-action rifle with three locking lugs locked directly into the barrel and is therefore considered as a very safe weapon from this perspective. This rifle offers the user the option to change the barrel and thus significantly increases usage flexibility. In addition to RH version, the LH version is also available. The rifle accepts magazines with 2 to 5 rounds. The receiver is made of high-strength anodized aluminium and is available in black or silver colour. The mounting surface has four holes, 2 at the front mounting surface and 2 at the rear mounting surface, just like Titan 3 and Titan 6.

Which rifles have interchangeable mounts

Roessler Alpha shares the same mounting surface with Roessler Titan 3 / Titan 6 and Savage Axis with the same radiuses along with 2 mounting holes at the front end of the receiver and 2 holes at the rear end and the same distance between these two pairs. This means all mounts made for Roessler Alpha will also fit Titan 3 / Titan 6 and Savage Axis and vice versa.

Another rifle with similar mounting surface is SHR 970 of Swiss Arms company (which is now called Sig Sauer). SHR 970 has the same radiuses as Titan Alpha on the mounting surface of the receiver and the same distance between the mounting holes in each group, but the distance between the two groups of holes is shorter. This means that two piece mounts, which are meant to be installed on Roessler Titan Alpha will also fit SHR 970 (and Titan 3 / Titan 6 and Savage Axis) and vice versa, but one piece mounts won’t fit SHR 970, because of the different distance between the groups of holes.

Our recommendation for mounts

Fixed mounts:

The perfect fit for Roessler Titan Alpha would be these MAK rings with bases.

Detachable repeatable mounts:

There is a lot of choice for Roessler Titan Alpha repeatable detachable mounts and you can’t go wrong with any of them but if we would have to point one out it would be ERAMATIC pivot mount.

Picatinny rails:

We would recommend ERA-TAC Picatinny rail, as it is affordable and made of aluminium, which is ideal from mechanical perspective. More about that in our article:

Help us build our riflescope mounts database

If you have this rifle or any other rifle at home, we would really appreciate it if you could send us some photos of the rifle receiver (mounting surface of the rifle when there are no mounts installed), because it would help us expand our rifle mounts database. If you send us a photo of rifle receiver which we don’t already have, that would be of great value to us and we will definitely reward you for your help.
