Savage Model 111 (MA/flat-back)

Sub Categories

Bases and Rails

Savage Model 111 is essentially a variant of the Savage Model 110. The numbering system introduced by Savage in the late 1970s or early 1980s resulted in models 111, 112, 114, and 116, which are all different variations of the Model 110 with specific features, such as stainless-steel barrels on 116s or American walnut stocks on older 114s, for instance.

This means that generally speaking, scope mounts for the medium-action Savage Model 110 also fit on the medium-action Model 111.

In contrast to the short-action and long-action versions, the medium-action Model 110 was only available in a “flat-back” configuration, which means that it has a flat mounting surface at the back of the receiver. You can read more about The Difference Between Flat-Back and Round-Back Savage Model 110, but to put it simply: if your variant of Savage Model 110 was made before 2003, it has a flat-back receiver. If it was manufactured after 2003, it has a round-back receiver.

If you wish to learn more about the rifle, read our guide for Scope Mounts for Savage Model 110 (MA/Flat-Back) where we wrote extensively about the model.

Fixed Scope Mounts for Savage Model 111 (MA/Flat-Back)

We recommend you combine these 30 mm Rusan Weaver Rings with this 2-piece Warne Maxima base which together make a perfect fit for the pre-2003 Savage Model 111.

Detachable Repeatable Scope Mounts for Savage Model 111 (MA/Flat-Back)

Henneberger one-piece scope mount earned our top recommendation for a detachable repeatable scope mount for a Savage Model 111. It is manufactured in Germany, is made of aluminum, and has a 30-year warranty attached to it.

It will, however, need to be coupled with a Picatinny rail. We recommend the EGW Picatinny Rail.

You can hardly ever go wrong with EGW when it comes to Picatinny rails, and this is why we recommend this EGW Picatinny rail for your medium-action Savage Model 111.
