The History of Grünig + Elmiger AG

Grünig + Elmiger AG is a renowned precision rifle manufacturing company located in Switzerland. The company was officially founded in 1962 when Kurt Grünig and Heinz Elmiger acquired Walther Lienhard's firearms factory, which was established in 1922. Walther was a five-time world champion in competitive shooting, and his expertise and knowledge were passed down to the new owners, Kurt and Heinz.

In 1968, the company moved to Malters, where it continues to operate today. Grünig + Elmiger AG's rifles are intended for use by professionals at the World Cup and Olympic levels. Their primary focus is on manufacturing bolt-action rifles, particularly for SISM and ISSF shooting.

Today, the company is run by Kurt Grünig's sons, Daniel and Rolf Grünig, who have maintained the company's commitment to producing high-quality precision rifles. Grünig + Elmiger AG has become one of the leading manufacturers of precision rifles in the world, thanks to its continued dedication to excellence and innovation in rifle design and manufacturing.

Grünig + Elmiger Match Target Rifle

The Grünig + Elmiger Match is a single-shot precision target rifle. The rifle is equipped with a 650 mm long barrel, as well as two triggers - the rear trigger serves to cock the weapon while the front trigger is a feather-touch trigger designed specifically for firing. The bolt has two strong locking lugs that lock up with the action's housing. 

There is a variety of options available for customization when it comes to technical components of the rifle, such as stocks and barrels, allowing the user to select the best configuration for their individual preferences and requirements. The stock is generally made of walnut and offers a comfortable and secure grip. Most models come with a standard European-style non-adjustable wooden stock, however, there are some that can have the cheekpiece adjusted. The back of the stock is equipped with either a solid or ventilated rubber recoil pad.

The tension-free rifled precision barrel is designed to provide the utmost accuracy. On the top of the receiver, there are holes which are drilled and tapped for scope mount installation. The Grünig + Elmiger MKB III Bolt Action rifle is available in both light and heavy versions, and it is chambered for various calibers.

The receiver of Grünig + Elmiger Match Target Rifle comes with four drilled and tapped holes on the top of the receiver for mounting purposes. There are two holes on the front and two on the rear end of the mounting surface.
