About the Benelli

Benelli brothers, owners of the Benelli motorcycle company, embarked on a new journey when they formed Benelli Armi S.p.A. company in 1967. The brothers were passionate hunters as well as fine engineers and with the help of Bruno Civolani, they developed an extraordinary hunting shotgun that used a simple inertia driven mechanism in place of a conventional gas-operated system. This mechanism turned out to be a revolutionary design, as it permitted the user to fire 5 rounds in less than a second, making it the fastest reloading action the world had ever seen. The company was acquired by the Beretta company in 1983. In 2002 they entered the rifle market which demanded the highest levels of mechanical precision and reliability. By the year 2007, 40 years after the company founding, they have already sold more than 2 million shotguns.

Benelli Lupo Rifle Review

The LUPO hunting rifle is Benelli’s first bolt-action rifle. Sub-MOA accuracy, advanced ergonomics, and shooting comfort have been carefully engineered into this chassis-style hunting rifle that allows for exclusive fit and customization out of the box. Lupo is Italian for wolf and the Benelli LUPO is designed to be a great rifle for land targets, just as Benelli’s Super Black Eagle is a great shotgun for air targets.

One of the truly unique features of the LUPO is the ability to adjust drop, cast and trigger reach with included shims. Shims allow the stock to be set in one of 36 different positions. Optional fit choices include two raised cheek pad styles and one optional length buttstock. Great fit equals better control - and increased accuracy.

All of the versions of the rifle come only for right-handed people. The barrel is available in 56 and 61 cm (22 and 24 in) length. Benelli Lupo already comes with a pre-installed Picatinny rail.

Which Rifles Have Interchangeable Mounts?

Since this rifle already has preinstalled Picatinny rail, many mounts for Picatinny rail will fit on the rifle, except the ones, which have recoil stoppers at the centre on the mount.
