Contessa 12 mm Rails.

These rails are used to convert the mounting surface on your rifle into a 12mm dovetail which is most commonly seen on European break-barrel rifles. On it, many of Contessa’s mounts can be put. Contessa manufactures these steel rails for several popular bolt action rifles, single shot rifles and semiautomatic shotguns. The disadvantages of these over classic Picatinny rails are that they are sleeker and more elegant.

These rails are precisely machined and come with rounded edges, which is a sign of superior workmanship. They feature a glossy finish.

By mounting this rail on the rifle and then using one of the Contessa QR mounts for the 12mm dovetail, a 100 % repeatability is assured. Also, the user has an option of quickly swapping between multiple optics on a single rifle.

On the rail, there are some rectangular notches – these act as recoil stoppers (there are recoil lugs on the bottom of Contessa QR mounts which fit into these notches). These are identical to the ones we commonly observe on most break-barrel rifles.

There is a 30-year warranty period on all Contessa Steel 12mm rails.
