Steiner Navigator 7x30 Product description

Developed by Steiner for recreational boaters, weekend anglers and hobby sailors, the lightweight and fairly compact body on this 7x30mm Navigator means that they are also the ideal binocular to take just about anywhere and not just for marine use.

Although not built to military specifications like the professional Steiner Commander series, these high-end instruments are still easily able to handle even the very worst conditions and are guaranteed by Steiner to provide an untroubled lifetime of use for just about any leisure or sports enthusiast on the water.

High-end features begin with the fully waterproof Makrolon housing which is the same material that Steiner uses on all their top-end instruments. Able to withstand 11 Gs of impact, it is not only extremely tough but very lightweight as well.

Steiner then covers this with their special NBR Long Life rubber armouring. This not only adds a further layer of protection but improves grip, which can be especially important in a watery environment. Added to this are the special qualities of this particular rubber that make it very resistant to hardening and cracking that affects many marine binoculars that are often exposed to salt water and sunlight.

As well as being 100% waterproof, the interior cavity is pressure filled with moistureless nitrogen gas using Steiner’s N2 injection system which prevents fogging of the internal lens surfaces even under extreme weather conditions.

Steiner further protects these binoculars by using a floating prism system that has a shock absorbent silicone mount to dampen the shock caused by a heavy impact and thus prevent damage to the optics.

Another excellent feature on these Steiner Navigator Pro 7x30 binoculars that is handy both on the water and land at mid to long ranges is the permanent focus optical system. Dubbed the Sports-Auto Focus System by Steiner, it makes the instrument easier to use as once you have set up the individual diopters on each of the eyepieces to match your eyesight, you never have to adjust the focus again as everything from around 18 meters to infinity will remain pin sharp.

At 123 meters wide at 1000 meters, the field of view on these matches that of the 50mm versions which is really impressive. A wide view is important as it makes it far easier for you to locate and then track your subject should it be something like a fast-moving speedboat.
