Leica Fortis 6 2-12x50i Product description

  • The clarity and resolution of the Leica Fortis 6 2-12x50i riflescope is fantastic

  • The optical performance of the scope is exceptional, especially when compared to other scopes in its price range

  • The Leica BDC turret is one of the most advanced in the industry

  • The eye box is very good on the Fortis 6 6-12x50i model

  • The scope has a wide field of view, and it also has outstanding edge sharpness

Leica Fortis 6 series

The Leica Fortis 6 scopes series was designed to compete with the Swarovski Z6i. The price of Fortis 6 scopes is lower than that of Z6i scopes. The difference in pricing comes down to the fact that Fortis 6 scopes are made in Portugal, where the workforce is a little bit cheaper. The scopes also feature single reticle choice and simpler illumination.

Fortis 6 configuration models:

Optical Properties

Fortis 6-12x50i features the 50-millimeter objective lens and 2-12 magnification range. The field of view is nearly 21 meters at 100 meters, which is comparable to that of the Swarovski Z6. But the light transmission rate is 92%. When you compare Fortis 6 to its competitors, you'll notice that it has a brighter image.

Physical properties

The 2-12x50 scope is very modern, and very well build, and it has a nice finish and unmistakable Leica design. The parallax is fixed at 100 meters, which is normal, and the illumination is powered by a normal CR 2032 battery. Leica uses a Zeiss VM/ZM rail standard for mounting.

The Fortis 6 2-12x50i scope features only one reticle which is located in the second focal plane. It's a typical hunting reticle, which is rather slender and has a tiny dot inside.

The illumination can be controlled to a significant extent, from extremely low-intensity settings for low-light usage and bright daytime operation, with levels ranging from the 7th level onwards. The scope features very simple, efficient, and straightforward illumination mechanism as well as an improved dot that doesn't cover too much area.

The Fortis 6 6-12x50i features multiturn turrets. There is no turn indicator because this is a hunting scope. The clicks are very nice, they produce a crisp sound and you're not able to reset them to zero. The scope can be ordered with BDC turrets.

The elevation range is 14 MIL, and the clicks are 1 centimeter at 100 meters.  Windage is 15 MIL. This is more than enough for a hunting scope, even if you want to shoot farther distances.

What's in the box?

  1. instruction manual

  2. manual for a BDC turret

  3. catalog for the accessories

  4. lens cleaning cloth

  5. bikini covers

Hello, I was wondering if when you buy a rifle scope, do you mount it on the rifle? The mounting is already on the rifle. Thank you,lp

Pozdravljeni, zanima me, če ob nakupu strelnega daljnogleda tega tudi na montirate na puško? Montaža je že na puški. Hvala,lp

I am looking to buy a pair of binoculars. I have a choice between a Leica Fortis 2-12x 50i with ballistic dome and a Kahles Helia 3,5-18x50i. (30mm diameter tube without shine.) The binoculars will be mounted on a Strasser rifle in 8x57 calibre or 6,5x55 barrel. Both are in stock. Which one do you recommend?

Odločam se za nakup strelnega daljnogleda. Izbiram med Leica Fortis 2-12x 50i z balistično kupolo in Kahles Helia 3,5-18x50i. (Tuba premera 30mm brez šine.) Daljnogled bo montiran na puško Strasser kalibra 8x57 oz. menjalno cevjo 6,5x55. Oba imaste na zalogi. Katerega svetujete?

by Damjan

There is no doubt that these are two excellent binoculars, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Both binoculars are extremely versatile for different types of hunting. The Kahles has adjustable parallax, while the Leica does not, which means that for long range shots, the Kahles may be a bit more of an option. The optical quality of the binoculars themselves is remarkably similar.
