Steiner Observer 8x56 Product description

Whilst a little larger and heavier than the two 42mm models within the Steiner Observer series, the main advantage these have is their ability to perform in very low light conditions.

So just like all the other binoculars in the Observer series, these feature Steiner’s excellent fully multi-coated, high contrast optical system that ensures as much light passes through the instrument and onto your eyes as possible. However, where this 8x56 version has the added advantage is with its large 56mm objective lenses. Just like large windows in your house, they are able to collect more light than smaller ones. As well as this, the combination of these lenses and the 8x magnification produces a large 7mm exit pupil. This is about the same as the maximum diameter most peoples pupils can dilate to and means that even in very poor light they are able to flood your eyes with enough light.

This low light capability, as well as a number of other features, make the Steiner Observer 8x56 binocular ideal for wildlife observation, birding and hunting, especially when you know you are going to be going out before sunrise and back again after sunset when most wildlife tends to be most active.

These Steiner Observer binoculars are also fully waterproof as well as nitrogen-filled which prevents fogging up of the internal optics in any weather conditions.

Further protection to the optics is provided by the NBR Long Life rubber armouring and a housing made from the super durable Makrolon polycarbonate which is able to withstand a force of over 11 G’s.

The centrally located focus wheel is connected to Steiner’s Fast Close Focus mechanism that is geared in such a way so that it requires less turning which in turn means you are able to achieve the perfect focus in less time making sure you never miss that “once in a lifetime sighting”.
