Steiner BluHorizons 10x26 Product description

Introduction

Steiner, an established German company in sports optics, was founded in 1947 by Karl Steiner. Despite the poor state of the German economy right after the Second world war, Steiner's company flourished and soon he was able to employ many people. In 2008 the company became part of the Berretta Group, a large conglomerate. Steiner's headquarters are located in Bayreuth, Northern Bavaria.

Nowadays Steiner is a popular brand not just among the masses but supplies military and law-enforcements around the world with their military-grade optical products. They are also known for their unsurpassed marine binoculars which are difficult to compete with.

About the BluHorizons Pocket Binoculars

The BluHorizons binoculars were first introduced to the wider public at the Shot Show in Las Vegas in 2019. What makes these binoculars outstanding is the very innovative AutobrightTM Lens Technology that actively adapts the brightness of the picture coming through the binoculars to the surrounding light. This feature comes in very handy when surrounded by blinding snow or in bright sunlight.

What makes the BluHorizons excellent pocket binoculars is their compact format with barrels that fold right next to each other, making them suitable for any pocket. The binoculars are of the single bridge and double hinge type, with the ridged focusing knob within the bridge. The ridges on the focusing knob allow for a firm and comfortable grip. The rubber foldings on the eyecups shield the user's eyes from sunlight. The diopter is located on the left ocular. The binoculars are equipped with roof Schmidt-Pechan prisms and the barrels are filled with nitrogen to prevent fogging at lower temperatures. The binoculars are suited for temperatures between -20 and +70 ˚C. To additionally protect the binoculars, the housing is rubberized. The binoculars are rainproof.

All the features of the BluHorizons binoculars make them an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle.

About the model (10x26)

Due to the higher 10x magnification, the field view of this models is slightly narrower compared to the 8x22 model, reaching 98 m of field of view on 1000 m. For the same reason the shaking of the picture is also slightly more visible, however since this model is also very light, just 300 g, it is very easy to stabilize. The 10x26 model is also slightly larger, reaching 11,5 cm in length, 4,5 cm in depth and 8 cm in width when folded and 12 cm when open to the widest.
