Schultz & Larsen 97 DL (Holes Only)

The History of Schultz & Larsen

Schultz & Larsen is a Danish company that was founded in the mid-20th century by two brothers, Viggo, and Børge Schultz, and their friend, Jørgen Larsen. The company began as a small workshop producing hunting rifles and quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality firearms. In the 1950s, Schultz & Larsen began to expand its product line to include target rifles and other competitive shooting firearms.

Throughout the following decades, Schultz & Larsen continued to innovate and improve its products, and by the 1970s, the company had become one of the leading manufacturers of competitive shooting rifles in Europe. The company's rifles were used by many Olympic and international-level shooters and several world records have been set with rifles from Schultz & Larsen.

In recent years, Schultz & Larsen has shifted its focus towards producing high-end hunting rifles, while still maintaining its reputation for quality and precision. The company continues to operate in Denmark, where all of its rifles are still handmade by skilled craftsmen.

Schultz & Larsen 97 DL (Holes Only) Rifle Review

The Schultz & Larsen 97 DL is a classic hunting bolt-action rifle of the Danish gun manufacturer Schultz & Larsen. This model has been discontinued but was essentially the same as the new S&L Victory without the cosmetic changes. The rifle features an interchangeable barrel, which is locked into place with the bolt's sturdy locking lugs that lock directly into the barrel.

The Schultz & Larsen 97 DL is fitted with a world-class adjustable trigger and a removable 3-shot magazine. The rifle's push-feed action and safety features further enhance its functionality. The rifle's receiver has pretapped holes in the older version, and in later versions starting somewhere in the 2000s, the mounting surface changed to Slide & Lock bases that are milled in with the lock seat. This provides an elegant and beautiful solution, with the option of having the rifle scope in summer or winter position (eye distance).

The older version with drilled and tapped holes is presented on this landing page. However, should your rifle come with the receiver suitable for Slide & Lock bases, you might consider reading the following landing page:

The rifle's overall weight and barrel length vary depending on the caliber and individual specifications. Its high-quality walnut stock is of the Monte Carlo type and features a recoil dampening butt cap. The geometric design of the stock helps reduce recoil and makes it feel much lighter than with other stock types. The pistol grip also has a hand-filling palm rest for added comfort during use.

Scope Mounts Interchangeable with Schultz & Larsen 97 DL

Please note that if a rifle’s receiver comes with the aforementioned hole distances, it will be compatible with interchangeable mounts that correspond with the rifles below. This compatibility remains irrespective of whether the rifle comes with a Slide & Lock receiver. In other words, the presence or absence of a Slide & Lock receiver does not impact the ability to use interchangeable mounts, as long as the hole distances match. Always ensure to check the specific specifications of your rifle and the mount to guarantee correct and safe fitting.
