Leica Geovid 8x42 HD-B Product description

Description of Leica Geovid HD-B 8x42mm binoculars

The Leica Geovid HD-B 8x42mm rangefinding binoculars, introduced in 2013, bring about a revolution in the field of both rangefinders and binoculars and are an excellent all – round binoculars. Utilising Leica’s patented Perger Porro prism system, these binoculars present unparalleled optical performance, boasting incredible clarity, resolution, true vivid colours, high light transmission rate and much more. With its 8x magnification and a 42mm front objective lens diameter, these binoculars provide sufficient magnification for long range observation, while the front lenses still gather ample light to be useful in poor light conditions. Generous field of view makes scanning the terrain easy and enjoyable. The unique prism system also gives these binoculars an elegant and compact shape, making them very comfortable to handle.

A rubberised magnesium body with an open bridge design insures strength without adding excessive weight and further adds to the ergonomics of these binoculars. High quality internal focusing mechanism of the Leica Geovid HD-B 8x42mm, made of titanium, provides smooth operation in virtually any condition, one may find himself in, while Leica’s AquaDura coatings on the outer lens surfaces help disperse water and other particles, giving a clear image.

The highly precise and advanced rangefinder of the Leica Geovid HD-B 8x42mm is what makes these binoculars stand out, leaving the competition in the dust. With an extremely powerful laser system, with a range of 1825m, and a multifunction ballistic calculator, named ABC of Advanced Ballistic Compensation, these binoculars allow shooters to make precise and fast long range shots and are an essential component of any long range hunting kit. Taking into account the current air temperature, pressure and shooting incline, and, with twelve different ballistic curves in its memory for different calibres and loads, the Leica Geovid HD-B 8x42mm represents the most advanced rangefinder on the civilian market, displaying the necessary holdover or the amount of clicks, needed to adjust the riflescope to be dead on. Leica’s engineers have taken a step further, giving these binoculars a microSD card slot, allowing the user to install their own ballistic curves.

Leica review

This are my second Leica rangefinding binoculars and became a true fan of them. It works fast, ballistic software is efficient and the optics is excellent. I really never go hunting without it and long range shots became easy with it.

The only downside I can think about is the size.
