Steiner BluHorizons 8x22 Product description

Introduction

Steiner is an established German sport optics company. Their headquarters are located in Bayreuth, Northern Bavaria. The company was founded in 1947, right after the Second World War by a man called Karl Steiner. Despite the German economy after the war being in shambles, Steiner was soon able to employ many people and expand. In 2008 the company was bought by Beretta Group, one of the largest conglomerates in the world.

Nowadays, alongside being a popular brand among the masses, they also supply the military and law-enforcement of several countries with their military-grade optical products. In the field of high-grade marine binoculars, they leave the competition far behind.

About the BluHorizons Pocket Binoculars

The BluHorizons series was introduced in 2019 at the Shot Show in Las Vegas. Befitting Steiner's binoculars, the BluHorizons models are equipped with an innovative sunlight adaptive function AutobrightTM. AutobrigthTM Lens Technology is a function that adapts the brightness of the picture coming through the binoculars to the surrounding light; this feature is very useful on snow and in bright sun.

Their light compact format, that fits comfortably in the pocket and with barrels that fold right one next to the other, makes the BluHorizons binoculars excellent pocket binoculars. They are double hinge and single bridge binoculars with the focusing knob within the bridge. The knob is also ridged for a better grip. The eyecups have rubber foldings that prevent the sun to blind the user from the sides. The prism is of the Schmidt-Pechan type. The diopter is located on the left ocular. The barrels are filled with nitrogen to prevent fogging at lower temperatures, while the binoculars can withstand temperatures between -20 and +70 ˚C. For additional protection, their unique and modernly designed body is rubberized. The binoculars are also rainproof.

BluHorizons binoculars are excellent for those who enjoy cycling, hiking, traveling, or just a simple walk in the nature.

About the model (8x22)

The 8x22 model offers 125 m of field of view on 1000 m. Due to the 8x magnification, the shaking of the picture is less prominent compared to the higher magnifications, even after extended observations. At just 250 g it is a very light model, with dimensions of 10 cm in length, 4.5 cm in height, 7.5 cm in width when folded and 12 cm when fully extended.
