Holosun 407K X2 Product description

About the Holosun "407K" MOA red dot

Holosun 407k is a red dot sight of the Reflex series.

The letter 'K' indicates the red dot sight's unique, miniature shape which makes it ideal for pistol use. It has a modification of the Shield RMS footprint instead of the Trijicon RMR footprint found on Holosun 407C moa dot507C moa dot, and 508T dot.

There are two large buttons for illumination control on the side of the Holosun optic.

The Holosun 407k reflex red dot features the ShakeAwake function. When left powered on, the Holosun reflex optical sight will go from 'active mode' to 'sleep mode' after a while to prevent unnecessary battery drain. Once moved, the Holosun optic will power back on immediately.

Main features of Holosun 407K Red Dot Sight

  • red and green illumination

  • made of 7075-T aluminum

  • 6 MOA dot

  • Holosun 407k is incredibly compact and lightweight

  • perfect for a pistol

  • ShakeAwake function with the last setting recall

  • 12 illumination intensity levels – 2 of them are NV compatible

  • 407K open reflex sight is Parallax free

  • 50.000 hours battery life

  • the battery compartment is at the side of the Holosun moa red dot

  • uses a modification of the footprint/mounting standard found on Shield SMS dot and RMS dot

  • the rear part of the 407k dot acts as a rear sight when mounted on a pistol

About the Holosun Reflex series

Reflex is one of the red dot sight series made by Holosun. These compact sights are not closed on both sides like the Holosun Tube, Holosun Infiniti and Holosun Paralow series, which is why they are very compact and lightweight (there are some exceptions to this in the Holosun Reflex series – 512T is closed from both sides and thus bigger while Holosun 510C optic is a reflex-type red dot sight of a bigger design).

Models

The Holosun - 407K and Holosun 507K models are designed specifically for pistol use – these red dot sights are even more compact than 407C dot, 507C dot, and 508T dot. 407K red dot sight and 507K red dot sight are the first Holosun red dot sights that are equipped with a central dot size of 6 MOA.

The illumination is powered by a CR1632 battery. The click value for the elevation and windage adjustments is 0.5 MOA. These durable Holosun moa dot sights feature a single-piece housing made out of 7075-T aluminum. Altogether, there are 12 illumination intensity levels to choose from, 2 of which are NVD compatible. The battery life is 50.000 hours.

About the Holosun 407K micro red dot family

The Holosun 407k classic reflex red is one of the model families in the Reflex seriesThe first number '4' in its name suggests that it features a 6 MOA central dot reticle.

Mounting details of Holosun 407k Red Dot Sight

Nice tiny red dot

Using it on my PDP. I was surprised how small it is. Red dot is perfect with 10 brightness optios, shake awake working instantly and 6 MOA dot is very easy to spot, but not too big.<br><br>Watch out Walther PDP users though - it will not fit any of standard walther optic plates. You either need to order custom plate for 407k/507k or use Walther plate 04 (Leupold / Shield RMS) and modify it. You need to cut off back pins and half-shorten front pins. Ten you also need to cut about 4mm from both holding screws. If you did it right, the red dot will fit perfectly.

The best red dot for a Glock

Hi, I have tried many different red dot sights for my Glock 17 but this HS407K is the best.<br>It is a new sight and I did not know what kind of mount fits so I had to bye one.<br><br>When I did get it I very pleased because it was so small and light.<br>The best mount for Glock is Shield Sights MNT-GLK-SMS/RMS it fits fine after two modifications.<br>1. use 5mm drill bit and drill boath back pins<br>2. make new M4 threads for the screws of HS407K<br><br>Here is few pictures of my installation.

Will this mount directly to canik sfx mete pro without an adapter plate?

by Joseph

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, the red dot will not fit straightforwardly on an SFX Mete Pro model, however, you should receive two adapter plates with the handgun while you are also able to purchase the additional plates separately. In any case a Holosun 407K X2 shares the modification of a Shield Sights RMS red dot sights, which means that you will actually require an RMS plate to fit it. In addition to that, your gunsmith will also need to modify the adapter plate in order to fit a 407K X2 red dot sight.

Namely, the two rear indexing lugs on the pistol have to be removed and the two front indexing lugs are shortened in height.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again at info@optics-trade.eu

I wish to purchase a Holosun 407K X2 for Canadian $299.93, but I would need a Glock 48 adapter, which is out of stock. When do you expect to receive the adapter, and will the price for the Holosun be the same as now.

Dear Sir,

We kindly apologize for the late reply which is a result of increased demand for our services.

will the holosun 407k-x2 fit directly into the slide cut of the canik mete sft?

by james

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, we are not familiar with the exact dimensions of the optics ready cut on this model and can not confirm the compatibility but since the Holosun 407k has a modified Shield standard footprint we believe a direct fit on your pistol will not be possible without an adapter plate which would also need slight modification. You can find more information here: https://optics-info.com/footprints-on-red-dot-sights/

Thank you for your understanding.

If you will need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Does the Holosun HS407K x2 have the same foot print as the Holosun HS407K ?thank you Stan

by Stanley

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

We can confirm that the Holosun 407k and 507k share the same footprint.

Holosun HS407K and Holosun 507K feature a modification of the Shield footprint. The differences are:

  • the two rear sockets are missing
  • the sockets in the front are shallower

You can read more about footprint standards on red dot sights here: https://optics-info.com/footprints-on-red-dot-sights/

Thank you for your understanding.

Please tell me EXACTLY WHICH PISTOLS MY HS407K X2 FITS. This is ridiculously difficult to determine. Are there any pistols that this fits right out of the box.

by Ed

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

We kindly apologize for the late reply, which is a result of the increased demand for our services.

Holosun 407K and Holosun 507K feature a modification of the Shield footprint. The differences are:

  • the two rear sockets are missing
  • the sockets in the front are shallower.

For the 407K model, most Optics Ready handguns' footprints will need to be adjusted accordingly.

Thank you for your understanding.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

I just bought the S&W M&P 9m Shield EZ. Can the 407K or the 507K be used on this gun? Thank you.

by Sally

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

We kindly apologize for the late reply, which is a result of the increased demand for our services.

Holosun 407K and Holosun 507K feature a modification of the Shield footprint. The differences are:

  • the two rear sockets are missing
  • the sockets in the front are shallower

This means that you will require an adapter for your S&W M&P Shield handgun that is suitable for Shield Sights red dot sights. If you don't have the mounting adapter you can take a look at one on the page below.

https://www.optics-trade.eu/en/shield-sights-sms-rms-mount-for-s-w-shield.html

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Hi, is this 407k the v1 with the large vertical buttons?

by bert

Please note that the V1 versions are no longer available for purchase. 407K and 507K are the X2 versions now, which have smaller horizontal buttons.

by Optics Trade team

Will this fit on a canik TP9SF Elite with a milled slide??

by John

Please note that this red dot sight uses a modification of the Shield Sights standard.

The differences are:

  • the two rear sockets are missing
  • the sockets in the front are shallower

For this reason, some pistols that are optic-ready for Shield footprint need to be modified for the 407 and 507K. Namely, the two rear indexing lugs on the pistol have to be removed and the two front indexing lugs shortened in height. Hellcat and Walther PPS are examples of such pistols (some pistols, such as Sig Sauer P365XL, do not have to be modified).

If you have an optics-ready model of your Canik handgun, please make sure that you have the Shield Sights adapter (needs to be modified in accordance with the description above).

by Optics Trade team

Hi, Do you have the mount that is compatible with this sight and Glock G19 GEN5MOS? Thank you Regards.

by Edgar

Please note that this red dot sight shares the footprint of Shield Sights, however, it is a modification.

The differences are:

  • the two rear sockets are missing
  • the sockets in the front are shallower

Will this RDS mount directly to a Sig P320 X Compact that is factory cut for the Delta Point Pro?

by Owen

According to Holosun, this red dot sight has the same footprint as the Shield Sights, which means that it should fit your handgun without a problem.

by Optics Trade team

Is Holosun 407K’s footprint the same as Shield RMSc compact red dot sight? I had my G43 cut for a Shield RMSc and would like to install the 407K if it’s the same footprint.

by Mervyn

Yes, the footprint is the same as on the Shield RMSc
