About Smartclip

Smartclip is a Slovenian company known for its manufacture of adapters for clip-on devices, noted for their robust construction and superior finish. The adapters feature a distinctive lever that closes inward toward the adapter body, unlike many competitors' adapters where the lever shifts from the rear (loose) to the front (fixed). Hunters often detach the clip-on from the scope to swiftly scan the area. In the dark, particularly when excited by the sounds of nearby wildlife, there's a risk of quickly bringing the device close to the face, potentially poking the eye or surrounding skin with the lever in the loose position. Ludwig Dvojmoč, the company’s founder, developed the unique lever design in response to several injuries caused by traditional lever mechanisms, effectively eliminating the risk of such mishaps.

Ludwig Dvojmoč has experience working with well-known companies in the sports optics industry, such as Zeiss and Aimpoint. He played a pivotal role in establishing the Slovenian chapter of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) and contributed to the amendment of several rules in the competition overall.

About the Smartclip PS adapter

The Smartclip PS adapter is specifically designed for the front scope-mounted clip-on devices that feature the Pulsar Forward mounting standard. It is constructed as a one-piece unit without any reducing rings. This design means that the available size options are limited. If the correct size for your riflescope is not available, consider going for the two-piece solution – the Smartclip AS adapter, where 99% of all sizes are available, along with a Pulsar Forward reducing ring to ensure compatibility. This combination is available here.

Smartclip adapters – size guide

With Smartclip adapters, the number in the adapter’s name indicates the outer objective diameter of the riflescope that it is designed to fit onto (in millimeters). To ensure you choose the correct adapter, measure the diameter of your riflescope’s objective using calipers (see the image below).

Mounting instructions

Mounting a device with the Pulsar Forward mounting standard on the adapter

Position the four pins of the adapter to match the four notches on the device that features the Pulsar Forward mounting standard. Turn the adapter to the left until it clicks into place.

Mounting the adapter on a riflescope

Start by placing the lever in the open position. Push it away from the adapter body to do this. Next, verify if the adapter fits onto the riflescope's objective. If it doesn't fit properly, you will need to make some adjustments:

Unscrew the lock screw, which is positioned perpendicularly to the adjustment screw.
Turn the adjustment screw. Rotate it clockwise to tighten or counter-clockwise to loosen, depending on the fit needed.
Continuously check if the adapter can be placed on the objective while you make slight adjustments to the screw. When the adapter is placed on the objective, try closing the lever slowly – the resistance should be just right, not too loose and not overly tight. Keep adjusting the screw until the lever secures into position with just enough resistance. Be cautious: attempting to close the lever on an overtightened adapter may break the lens of the riflescope! Check the fit by firmly moving the adapter to ensure it is securely attached.
Once you achieve the desired fit, secure the adjustments by screwing the lock screw back into place.

When choosing the size, you need to know the outer objective diameter of the riflescope.

For instance, for the Swarovski Z8i 3.5-28x50, you will need a size of 56mm and for the Swarovski Z8i 2.3-18x56, the 62mm size is suitable.

The Smartclip PS adapter is not suitable to mount you Bering Yoter to your riflescope. We advise you Smartclip AS adapter instead. To order the correct size you need to know the exact measurement of the objective (outside housing) of your riflescope. In some cases, the adapter fits on the clip-on device directly but in others, it does not. If you can provide us with the exact thread that your device has we can advise whether you also need an additional reduction ring on not.

Hi, I am interested in Smartclip adáptele but I have some question. - What model do I need to order. I have a Swarovski Z6i 2,5x15-56, and I Santalla to use with pulsar Forward F455. I think I will need order 62 mm Smartclip, but I am not sure. - What is the thickness of the wall? I have two different scopes with two different outer diameters. Scope 1: 57.5 mm Scope 2: 57.1 mm Wich Smartclip PS Ø do need to take to cover both scopes?

The 57mm will fit on the riflescope with the 57.1mm objective diameter without a problem. Unfortunately, the 57mm nor the 58mm sized adapter will not fit on the riflescope with the 57.5mm sized objective diameter even tho these adapters offer a few tenths of a millimeter of additional adjustment. Unfortunately, we do not have a distributor in the United Kingdom. The Smartclip PS adapter in 56mm size is currently in stock and can be sent to the United Kingdom with no problem. Due to Brexit, the price for the product is tax-free meaning all tax fees will have to be settled once the product arrives at the customs border in your country. You will have to pay a 20% tax and a 5% customs duty.

The overall required height between the rifle's barrel and the objective of the scope is approximately 4 mm. The thickness of the Smartclip's housing is 2.9 mm of the standard and 2.2 mm of the ultra-slim edition.

The adapter from Smartclip indeed is one of the best on the market due to its ergonomic design and build quality. Please note that this model is suitable only for the Pulsar Forward devices (F135, F155, and F455). For a Pulsar Core unit, we advise you to look at the following adapter from Smartclip.

For the V6 with a 56 mm objective, you need to use the 62 mm adapter which is currently in stock. This is a complete one-piece adapter - you require no additional parts in order to work.

I purchase a F455 along with two smartclips to suit my two scopes I am not having a lot of joy with either in that the zero is out when using the f455. I haave mounted up as directed but notice when engaged in its clip the f455 slumps within the mount under its own weight and it shoots high and right . At 60 m the zero is generally high and right by 150mm and 100mm respectively. I suspect this is due too the slump. How can I resolve this issue which is unaceptable.

Firstly we would kindly ask you to specify as to exactly which riflescopes and which dimensions of the adapters are you using. You must make sure that the adapters that you are using are perfectly suitable for your riflescopes. Secondly, it is very important that your riflescope is zeroed perfectly on 100 m. If there are deviations it is a high possibility that with night vision attachment you will have even more trouble in terms of deviations when shooting. The outer objective diameter on your riflescope should be 48 mm. Pulsar F455 is optically extremely good for its price class.

Unfortunately, Smartclip does not produce a PS type adapter with a diameter of 53 mm. We recommend the two-part AS adapter with Smartclip "reducing" ring.
